Please Consider Pitching In
Since our Sept. 12 email newsletter, at least one member has stepped forward to help do the work of keeping our chapter and dances alive. But we still need more help! As a reminder, here's a partial list of things that need done:
- Staff the front desk during dances
- Serve as an alternate DJ
- Schedule instructors to teach lessons at each dance
- Pick up beverages, etc. for each dance
- Clean-up after dances
You don't need to be a board member to volunteer in these ways. But we need board members, too. Our board has five members and two of them hope to be replaced by the end of the year. USA Dance bylaws require us to have at least seven board members, including four officers: president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. I hope some of our youth members will consider serving on the board. It will give them a chance to help decide the future of the chapter and board service will look good on their resumes!
