Fort Wayne Dancesport members Seth Brenneman and Bethany Lofgren placed in four events at the USA Dance Derby City Dancesport Championships in Louisville August 14, 2009.
The couple placed first in Adult Bronze American Smooth (waltz/foxtrot) beating couples from Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky and Tennessee and earning a $50 scholarship.
Seth and Bethany also placed first in Adult Bronze American Rhythm (cha-cha/rumba), surpassing couples from Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia and earning another $50 scholarship.
In addition, the couple placed second in Adult Silver American Smooth (waltz/tango/foxtrot) and third in Adult Silver American Rhythm (cha-cha/rumba/swing).
Because the competition was a National Qualifying Event, Seth and Bethany qualified to compete in the next USA Dance 2010 National Championships, April 9 – 11, Los Angeles.
On Saturday, August 15, 2009, Seth and Bethany excelled in several "fun dance" competitions, placing second in Argentine tango, second in west coast swing and third in hustle.
